Chris Fiscus

harkrock_chris

Drums, percussion, backup vocals.

Chris’ musical past is equal parts rock and jazz, latin percussion, pop and funk, with a list of musical influences and personal favorites just as diverse. Bringing a percussionist’s mindset to the drum set, a night of Preserve music can include cowbells, African hand drums and obscure percussion instruments – including an occasional hit on a car part. Anything that makes a cool sound is fair game.

Trained in percussion at Northern Arizona University, Chris was a member of Limbs Akimbo, a popular Flagstaff band. He later became a guest percussionist and sit in drummer with the Valley band BrotherLush, and joined them for their 2007 CD Lost, Found and Otherwise (available on iTunes).

These days when not busy with The Preserve, Chris enjoys occasional work as a studio musician or playing percussion with Random Karma, which has opened for Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, The Flaming Lips and Cowboy Mouth.
