New Songs, New Gigs
Posted by: | CommentsHello!
We’ve been busy and wanted to give you a quick update.
We have completed about five sessions in the recording studio toward CD number 2, and five songs are really progressing well. We will start working on another three new songs in studio in a few weeks. Then some promising ones will battle it out for the final couple spots on the new CD.
There is an album on our Facebook page of photos from behind the scenes in the studio. There also is a teaser video on our YouTube page.
In addition to the new music, we have booked two gigs for Sunday, Nov. 7. Yes, it’s hard to think of the fall when it’s so hot in Arizona and Louisiana. But November will be a great time to be in downtown Phoenix. We will be the featured band at the Party in the Park following the 34th-annual Phoenix 10K. Thousands of folks will be introduced to us as they relax from the race.
And later that afternoon is one of our favorite times in Arizona: The Great Cajun Cookoff. We’ll be back again this year for what promises to be another great, great time. Last year about a thousand people hit the sold out cookoff, and entertainment included The Preserve, Dash Rip Rock and much more. DON’T MISS IT this year.
We’ll keep hitting the new music, and we have some nice exposure coming up (from a UK music review to our music being used in a Louisiana TV show). We’ll keep you posted!

Great day at Full Well Recording Studio!
Posted by: | CommentsWe started CD number 2 with a roar today, getting keeper drum tracks and a good jump start on the other tracks for five new songs! We’ll hit more new songs tomorrow. Then Kyle goes back to Louisiana, Chris is off for a two-week vacation in San Diego, and Jacques and Pat will be busy boys hitting their parts for the new songs with three studio sessions next week.
We’ll post pictures soon from the studio. And we’ll toss on a video now and then to give you a look inside the studio and a glimpse into the process. Cheers! Time to get ready for more fun tomorrow with Mike at Full Well. We’ll be in session from about 10 a.m. into the afternoon.

Time to start CD number 2!
Posted by: | CommentsAfter a busy, busy close to 2009, we took a hopefully well deserved rest to start 2010. But come Spring, we were like bears. We woke up rested and hungry.
In the months that followed we have been kicking around ideas in both Arizona and Louisiana for songs and sounds that build on our debut CD. After a recent all-weekend practice session we are happy to report that we have 10 demos for new songs. Some are locks for our second CD. Others, we’ll play with them and see where they go. And there likely are a couple tunes that will be on the new CD that don’t even exist yet. That’s part of the fun – coming in with a game plan and then seeing everything evolve the way it should through the recording process.
We’ll be back to Full Well Recording Studio in Phoenix on June 19-20 and 26-27 to jump start the recording sessions on CD number two. We can’t wait to work again with The Dude, who pushed us all to new levels while working on “‘The Setup.” So sit back, have a cool one, and enjoy the summer. Before you know it the temperatures will drop and we’ll have some new gigs and new songs to share with you all.
PS – Watch for a special message from the band in the week leading up to Memorial Day.

Latest on the band
Posted by: | CommentsHey everybody! Thanks as always for all of your support! Whether it’s grabbing a shirt or necklace to be a walking ad, passing our CD to friends to help spread the word, or just keeping the kind words flowing, you all make it so much fun for us, and we are very grateful for your friendship, love and support.
We are working now on the very early ideas for a second CD, from sharing ideas and concepts to talking through different “sounds” we might capture. We’re working on some new songs now, chewing on other ideas that could become songs, and we are all pumped to get going. To that end, our first sessions for CD number 2 are June 19 and 20 at Phoenix’s Full Well Recording Studio. We cannot wait to get back with ”The Dude.”
Those recording sessions cost money, as does CD mastering, mixing, printing the CDs, making shirts and a whole world of other costs behind making and releasing a disc. Kyle will also have to fly in from Louisiana for sessions and such this time around. Want to help?
Buy a CD: We’re down to less than 50 of the original CDs. The CDs are $10 on our Web site, or at Hoodlums Music in Tempe.
Buy a song (or three): Our individual tracks are now on DigStation.com, and should be on CD Baby, iTunes and more next week or so.
Buy a shirt or necklace: As we start to prepare for CD number 2, we have very few of the cool black tour shirts left. We’re talking no XLs, one size Large, a few Mediums and a handful of size small (which also works for kids). We do have some of the olive or gray “guitar” design shirts, but those are running low too. The blacks shirts are $15, and the guitar shirts are $20.
Sterling silver necklaces made for us by local artist Francine Sumner are also available – we just got a new shipment in – and they are a very popular way to show your support. Any questions, look in the merch area.
It will be nice to get going again this summer and we’ll try to keep you updated on the recording progress and on any gigs in Arizona or Louisiana. Also join our Facebook fan page, and we’re also on MySpace and Twitter.

Happy New Year!
Posted by: | CommentsThe Preserve rocked the main stage at the Fiesta Bowl Block Party with a high-energy, 90-minute set. There were lots of familiar faces in the crowd, and a big set list that included those you sing along to and a few of our newest ones that haven’t yet been recorded. The capper? Fireworks and The Doobie Brothers!
USA Today has called the Fiesta Bowl Block Party one of the best ways in the Southwest to spend New Year’s Eve, and we’d have to agree.

Posted by: | CommentsIndeed, we have a nice little batch of new tunes in the hopper and many more ideas that we all are chewing on. We’re going to start working up new possibles for a sophomore CD in the coming months and hope to get back in the studio this summer. We’ll keep you all posted!
In the meantime, we’re down to about a dozen of our black Preserve shirts and that’s it. We have about 20 (if that) of the “guitar” design Preserve shirts. And we’re down to less than 100 CDs, which is a huge thank you to all of you, who snapped up nine big ol’ boxes worth!
2009 was a great, great year for us from our debut CD to release parties in Tempe and during a mini swing through Louisiana. And what better topper on the year than the Fiesta Bowl Block Party! That was amazing.
So here’s to 2010. We’ll keep you all posted on gigs that pop up, and if you hear about one, go! With Kyle now based in Louisiana and with our focus turning in a few months to new songs and the studio, gigs will be few and far between this year. We hope to rock a stage near you soon!!

Help us ring in 2010 in style!

OK all, so our last gig of an amazing 2009 is New Year’s Eve in Tempe, on the main stage at the Fiesta Bowl Block Party!!
From finishing our debut CD to a mini tour through Louisiana to opening for Dash Rip Rock (thanks for the kind words guys), this has been a great, great year. This is the topper: We will be on the main stage from 7-8:30 p.m. There will be one band after us, then fireworks, and then The Doobie Brothers.
Come out and join us to celebrate 2009 and launch 2010. Here’s five reasons to join us:
You’re a TCU fan!
You’re a Boise State fan!
You just love college football.
You know that USA Today calls this one of the best ways to spend New Year’s Eve in the Southwest.
Number 5? Kyle and his family have moved back to Louisiana. It’s a great move for them, and yes, the band will continue. We already are making plans to enter the recording studio for disc number two in late spring or summer. We will fly to Louisiana for festivals and big gigs, and Kyle will fly back to Arizona for the same. But obviously we won’t be playing five or six shows a month locally anymore. So come out and get your Preserve fix!
Thanks for a truly memorable 2009. Let’s raise a glass together and then bring on 2010!
